Elucidating the role of surface energ, on charge separation during PEC water splitting

Here, we elucidate the influence of surface energetics on the performance of a well-established Mo-doped BiVO4 photoanode whose surface energetics are regulated by the facet-selective cocatalyst loading.

Mutually-dependent kinetics and energetics of photocatalyst/co-catalyst/two-redox liquid junctions

Here, we developed a kinetic model for photocatalyst particles in contact with two-redox potentials, and adopted the principle of detailed balance extended to a locally out-of-equilibrium electrolyte containing multiple redox potentials, the condition typical for photocatalysts.

Elucidating charge separation in particulate photocatalysts using nearly intrinsic semiconductors wi

Here, we used double-side polished, intrinsic silicon as a model light absorber and manipulated the direction of charge-carrier diffusion using combinations of carrier-selective contacts.

Stable Water Oxidation in Acid Using Manganese-Modified TiO2 Protective Coatings

In this work, we show that thin films of manganese-modified titania, (Ti,Mn)Ox, topped with an iridium catalyst, can be used in a coating stabilization scheme for acid-stable water oxidation.

Tunable nano-interfaces between MnOx and layered double hydroxides boost oxygen evolving electrocata

Here we report the fabrication of nano-interfaces between MnOx nanoscale islands and NiFe layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets, which were chosen as baseline electrocatalysts for OER activity tuning.
